Jeremy was born in Colorado and has lived in Idaho, Utah, Washington, England, Louisiana and Oregon. He holds a bachelor's degree in psychology with a minor in Hebrew from BYU, and a master's degree in Adult and Organizational Learning from the University of Idaho. Jeremy has studied various martial arts for over 30 years, joining Harada Sensei's KDS in 1993 and receiving his 1st Dan in 2000. One of the original members of America's first Shotokai club, he assisted Adrian Hutber with its creation in 1994. He was awarded 2nd Dan in 2006, 3rd Dan in 2011, and 4th Dan 2014. As AKDS President he oversees all organization operations, schedules annual week-long training courses, and travels to teach nationwide. He is also the head instructor for the Springfield Oregon Shotokai Karate Club and was awarded his 5th Dan by Harada Sensei at the KDS Winter School in Wales, UK in 2016.
Peter was born in Idaho Falls, Idaho and has also lived in Utah, Nevada, Japan, Texas, Massachusetts, and California. He has a PhD in cell and molecular biology and currently works in biotechnology in the San Francisco Bay Area. Peter began practicing with the Idaho Falls Club in 1999 and was awarded the rank of 1st Dan in March of 2009 and his 2nd Dan in October of 2015. He has served as assistant instructor for the club at BYU and head instructor for the club at the University of Texas at Austin, and currently runs a practice group in Emeryville, California. As the AKDS Secretary, Peter manages the standards and recording of belt grading for all clubs nationwide and oversees the creation and dissemination of the AKDS newletter.
Jared was born in Massachusetts and has lived in New Hampshire, Florida, Utah, Texas and New Mexico. He has a bachelor's degree in Math and Physics from Brigham Young University, and a PhD in Theoretical Physics from Baylor University. Jared began practicing with AKDS at the BYU club in 2005 and was awarded the rank of 1st Dan in March of 2009. He is the instructor for the community club in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Jared was awarded his 2nd Dan in October of 2014 and holds the distinction of being the first ever to receive that rank from the American KDS.
